PAL - Created by a Professional Librarian for Ease of Use by Non-Librarians

PAL's creator, Larry Neuton, has a wide range of experience providing library services.

I received a M.S. in L.S. (Master of Science in Library Science) degree from University of Southern California.

I recently retired from my position as reference librarian and Internet coordinator . . .
at the Exposition Park Regional Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library System.

Among other responsibilities, I was reference librarian, the InFoPeople coordinator for the Central Region of our system, I organized a chess club,  and I taught Internet classes at the branch.
I've also worked at library branches as small as a bookmoble . . .
and as large as the Central Library (downtown Los Angeles, California) . . .

Story of PAL

I began working on PAL in 1994, when my childrens' private school needed help organizing their school library.

Refinement over a period of years resulted in PAL ("Perfectly Automated Library") Library Automation System.

This school's library has now grown to more than 10,000 volumes.
Many other school libraries are now using PAL as well.
I began this web site in 1998 to offer PAL to school libraries  near and far.  Today  PAL customers include libraries in Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Maine, Mariana Islands, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Canada, Mexico, and here in California (we also have installations overseas in United Kingdom, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nigeria and India).
